UAES HOLDS PROCUREMENT MASTERCLASS FOR MANAGEMENT AND SELECTED STAFF
On Wednesday 17th September 2024, the University of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences Management and select members of staff were held to a procurement master class by Hon. Paschal Egwim (FCIPS), a renowned procurement specialist and former director general of the Imo State Bureau of Public Procurement and Price intelligence.
The five hour lecture was all encompassing, giving a thorough rundown of the processes for contract bidding to award , commissioning , execution and handover. He also attended to other pertinent topics as concerns the university procurement system. Hon. Paschal Egwim in typical fashion allowed for questions as the workshop progressed attending to each concern carefully and pointing out possible loopholes in the procurement system.
The lecture surely left everyone who attended impressed and filled with new knowledge on procurement and it’s procedures. The management were led to see some aspects of the procurement system that needed attention and also helped expunge some myths around procurement and due process.
In attendance were the Acting Vice Chancellor of the institution Prof. Christopher Chiedozie Eze , the Registrar Prince Edward Njemanze, the University Bursar Mr. Robert Anikputa, the University Librarian Prof. Chidi Nwosu , the Deputy Registrar Dr. Emmanuel Uzodinma, the Ag. Director of planning Mr. Chike Osuagwu , the head of procurement Mr. Njenje , Mr . Evaristus Nwoke and Elemson Ifeanyi from the ICT.
