WE ARE OPEN FOR INTELLECTUAL SCRUTINY, VC TELLS NUC ACCREDITATION TEAM

The Acting Vice-Chancellor of the University of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences (UAES) Umuagwo, Prof. Christopher Eze, has declared that the Institution is ready for any scrutiny aimed at developing its frontiers.

Prof Eze said this when he received in audience an accreditation team from the National Universities Commission ( NUC) in his office last Monday. The group was in the University to accredit the Entrepreneurship programme. While welcoming them, the Vice-Chancellor further indicated that the University just like any other entity is not a perfect one but only aims at perfection.

In his words, “We are working hard as a young University to attain perfection. We have a crop of young academics ready to maximize the strength of their youth to project the Institution to greater heights. We have vast land on which to ply our trade. I thank the vision-bearer of the University, His Excellency Dist. Sen Hope Uzodinma, for conceptualizing this University and nurturing it accordingly. So you may go ahead and scrutinize us because we only want to get better.”

Responding, chairman of the NUC delegation, Prof. Patrick Yalokwu, thanked the Vice-Chancellor for the warm reception granted to his team. He stated that the team was not in the University to witch-hunt anyone but to further improve the standard, expressing confidence that the exercise would be hitch-free.

Meanwhile, the team returned to the Vice-Chancellor’s office yesterday where the exit report was presented with highlights showing that the Institution is on track.
